Work: clients, requests, time and invoices

Keep each client's projects, the requests they send, the time you spend and the invoices you issue together. Your notes are the source of truth, and nothing goes to a client unless you send it.

Works on its own; Code is optional.

From request to paid invoice

  1. Client

Add the client with their rate, billing address and VAT details, then their projects.

  2. Request

Note what they asked for, with to-dos and how it will be billed.

  3. Quote

Save your price and download a quote as a PDF.

  4. Time

Log the time you spend, at the category's rate or else the client's.

  5. Invoice

Add done requests and unbilled time to a draft, then mark it sent to number it.

  6. Paid

Mark it paid on the day the money arrives. Unpaid invoices past their due date show as overdue.

What Work does

Clients and projects

Each client has a rate, a billing address, a VAT number and contacts. Each project has its own invoice series, time categories with their own rates, notes and links.

Requests and quotes

A request is one thing a client asked for: a title, notes, to-dos and a price. Its price moves from estimated to quoted to accepted, and a quote downloads as a PDF from your saved price.

Time

Logging time is as fast as paper: Enter saves and clears, the client and project stay, and n opens the add dialog from anywhere. Type 1h30, 45m or 1:30.

Invoices

Build a draft from done requests and time, mark it sent to number and freeze it, and download the PDF to send yourself. Euro only. The printed fields follow Revenue's list for a VAT invoice; this is not tax advice.

Prepare client update

A draft update for a project's main contact, built from your requests: what is done, what is in progress and which quotes await an answer. You edit it and copy it. Nothing is sent.

With Code on

  • Price it: a session reads the project's private repository and estimates the hours. You approve it with your passkey, and you save your own price.
  • New issue or Link issue: open a GitHub issue from a request, or link one that exists.
  • Break into issues: drafts a list of issues from your notes for you to tick and edit before any is created. It uses your own Anthropic key.

Not yet: emailing PDFs, other currencies, credit notes.

Free during early access.
